Southeastern University
Southeastern, a university of the Assemblies of God, welcomes students from a variety of denominations. Through graduate and undergraduate degree programs–and on a beautiful, Mediterranean-style campus–we offer a vital, Christ-centered education that equips students for a life of world-changing leadership, both in church-related positions and in other professional fields.
Think palm trees, orange groves, wide sunsets reflected in sparkling lakes. That’s the setting for our 87-acre campus, where we bask in a semitropical climate with an average annual temperature of 72 degrees. Since 1946 (11 years after the school’s founding in Alabama) our home has been Lakeland, Florida, a city of about 100,000 located midway between Tampa and Orlando. Primarily residential, Southeastern offers 46 undergraduate majors and 7 graduate programs.
Southeastern stands apart from every other institution you’ve considered. You’re not just attending school—you’re joining a community that’s intentionally gathered. Each person here, following God’s call, has prayerfully chosen this university.
What’s more, we’re gathered in the Spirit. Arriving at Southeastern, you sense that difference. Our campus sets the stage, with lakes, fountains, and freshly completed buildings wherever you look. Then, you notice that the spirit of Christ infuses everything: Faces. Conversations. Classrooms. Our high-energy worship. It’s no accident that our championship athletic teams are called The Fire.
The momentum of Southeastern University spills over into the life of every person who comes here. We rely on the Biblical promise that with God, all things are possible. Our enrollment has soared in recent years, making Southeastern one of the most sought-after Christian universities in the Southeast and even beyond.
We educate our graduates to be leaders—to go out and be salt in the world. So we provide everything you need to shape a strong faith, a discerning mind, a healthy life, and a career rich in professional service.
Expect a spirited community of both diverse and like-minded Christians; a wide range of excellent undergraduate and graduate programs; seasoned professors, faith-filled and friendly; opportunities for service, ministry, and career-relevant practice; a strong emphasis on spiritual maturity; chapel programs that stir the heart and challenge the mind; state-of-the-art student housing; and comprehensive facilities for sports and recreation.
Athletics: A member of the NAIA(National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) and NCCAA(National Christian College Athletic Association) Division I, Southeastern fields teams in men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, and cheerleading; men’s baseball and golf; and women’s volleyball and tennis.
Ministry: Each major field incorporates career-relevant opportunities for student ministry and community service. Domestic and overseas mission trips are available over breaks and summer.

At Southeastern University, that’s a promise you can readily claim.
